Saxophonist and Arranger.
In his long career he has played for foreign artists: Liza Minelli, Amy Stewart, Keisha Jackson, Melvia Chick Rodgers, Karima and Italian artists: Roberto Vecchioni, Claudio Baglioni, Nina Zilli, Dirotta su Cuba, Nomadi, Stadio, Michele Zarrillo.
He has participated in the most important Italian and international Jazz Festivals. Over the years, as a musician, he has participated both in important television programs: Raffaella Carra Show – Radio Italia Live – Apocalypse Show (Funari) – Sanremo Festival – Premiatissima – Risatissima – Sogno Ribelle, and in famous theater tours in Italy: Saturday evening – Lady D. – A chorus line – Luckily there is music – Grand Musical Gala.
In 1992 with the sax quartet “Four Fires” he arranged an interesting product of jazz and pop music material. In 2003/4 he was a teacher of instrument and arrangement and in 2017/18 a teacher of ensemble music at the Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo.
From 2006 to today he has been the Tenor Sax in Maurizio Crozza’s television programs with the Silvano Belfiore Band.
He has published various CDs, where in addition to playing he took care of the arrangements, and in which he had the participation of world-famous special guests. In the CD “In the time Forever”, dedicated to the music of Duke Ellington, the American tenor Bob Mintzer is a guest; in the CD “Tribute Gerry Mulligan” the baritone sax Dario Cecchini is a guest (with whom in 2011 he published the method ” WINDS IN SECTION” for an original study of the funky language); in 2016, leader of the Evolution Band, he created the original CD “Queen A Funky Tribute”, dedicated to the music of Queen with a particular funky arrangement and with extraordinary guests: the saxophonist . the American Eric Marienthal (of the Chick Corea Electric Band) and the Italian-Canadian saxophonist Bob Bonisolo.
For years he has collaborated on new jazz projects with the American saxophonist from Detroit Chris Collins, with whom he created the CD “A Christmas Story”. He took care of the arrangements of the “Morricone Night” concert held in Salò in August 2020 and Villa Litta in September 2021. In 2021 he published “Paolo Favini sax ensemble” a book with 12 arrangements for 4 saxes of various musical genres published by Volontè.
With the publisher Cobert he published 3 volumes dedicated to the Blues, in 2024 “Inside thesection” method with the wind section (trumpet-ten-alto trombone) was released. 23/24 Beatles on the road (with the 4th saxophone) west inside the story dedicated to the music of L.Berstein.

This recording project was born from the fusion of two great passions of Paolo Favini, the Funk style arrangement and the music of Queen, one of the most famous rock bands in the world. The band is made up of 4 wind instruments plus a rhythmic trio or an expanded formation with 4 saxes, 3 trumpets, 2 trombones, guitar, bass, drums.
This musical project can be enriched by the presence of one/two special guests, two internationally renowned saxophonists who participated in the making of the album. Eric Marienthal, alto sax specialist, considered one of the greatest saxophonists of the last thirty years, known to the general public for having been part of C.Corea’s “Electric band”. Bob Bonisolo, tenor sax, is part of the group of stellar musicians who came out of the “Berklee school of music” and was part of the orchestra of C.Bley, RobMcConnel, S.Jordan.
