Rossana Monico


Rossana Monico started studying ARPA in 2000, at the Civic Music School of Cesano Boscone, under the guidance of Elena Cosentino. Enrolled in the high school of the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan in 2001 he completed his studies with Maestro Leonardo Dosso, graduating as a bassoonist in 2011.

In recent years he has participated in many harp master classes, both in Italy and abroad, concerning the Irish, Breton and Scottish repertoire with masters of the caliber of Myrdhin, Grainne Hambly, Tristan LeGovic, Enrico Euron, Jochen Vogel and Park Stickney.

She played in prestigious festivals come in various editions of the BustoFolk of Busto Arsizio or throughout the Insubria Celtic Festival of Marcallo con Casone, she was also invited to the Review of the Viggianese Harp in Viggiano by Vincenzo Zitello, organizer. He has released several albums, both together with the Celtic Harp Orchestra of Como, and with the Green Circle ensemble.

In 2010 he founded the Green Circle Musical Cultural Association which, in addition to holding concerts, lessons and promoting the culture of the Irish harp through the Music Gazebo, published in 2011 the album “Strings”, in 2013 “From Conception” ( traditional jazz music), in 2016 “Taisteal” and in 2018 “Irish Legend”.

Thanks to the support of his association, he organized several master classes in Italy with teachers such as Tristan Le Govic and Enrico Euron.

He founded the DragonHarp group in 2011, which advertised the EP “Let the Dragon Fly”, and which proposed, for several years, a repertoire of power metal in which the Irish electric harp is highly emphasized.

Starting from 2015, he inaugurated the “Lonely Nights” concert whose purpose is to raise funds for associations that deal with suicide prevention and assistance to families who have had a traumatic mourning. The concert is held every year in July and the assembly is donated to the associations.

Following a few years of study of modern singing, under the guidance of Rayssa Lissandrello, in 2019 he founded a rock quartet, the harp n ‘roll, together with colleagues and friends Claudio Vismara, Paolo Albergoni and Francesco Borghi, who based his repertoire on rock and metal rearranged to enhance the electric harp and the alto voice of Rossana.

Specialized in Irish harp and scholar of new techniques and applications, she currently teaches at several music schools in Lombardy.
